● About
Lake Sammamish Yacht Club
The Lake Sammamish Yacht Club (LSYC) is a social boating club built around one simple idea: boating is better when it’s shared.
Founded in 2004, LSYC brings together local boaters who enjoy spending time on the water, not in clubhouses or meetings, but out on the lake with friends, family, and fellow members.
We are intentionally different from traditional yacht clubs. LSYC has no permanent clubhouse, no slips, and no required uniforms. Instead, we focus on informal gatherings, seasonal traditions, and creating opportunities for members to connect on Lake Sammamish in a relaxed, welcoming way.
Over the years, that’s looked like raft-ups, holiday boat parades, casual cruises, and spontaneous time on the water. No pressure. No pretension. Just good people and boats of all kinds.
LSYC is run by volunteers and shaped by its members. Whether you sail, power, paddle, or simply enjoy being on the lake, the club exists to make it easier to find your people and enjoy the water together.
If that sounds like your kind of boating, you’ll fit right in.
● Our Mission & Philosophy
What We Value
●
Community over Credentials
LSYC is about the people you share the water with, not the size of your boat or how long you’ve owned it.
●
Time on the Water
We prioritize being out on Lake Sammamish. Informal gatherings, shared traditions, and time afloat.
●
Low Friction, High Trust
No clubhouse politics. No required uniforms. Just mutual respect and a shared love of the lake.
●
All Boaters Welcome
Sail, power, paddle. If you enjoy being on the water and being part of a community, you’re welcome at LSYC.
● Our Story
Our Founders
The Lake Sammamish Yacht Club began in 2004 by a small group of local boaters who believed that time on the water is better when it’s shared.
LSYC was co-founded by William Jensen and Edward Bondy, with the goal of creating a social boating club focused on community, accessibility, and enjoying Lake Sammamish without the formality or overhead of traditional yacht clubs.
That spirit continues to guide the club today.
